Mersilene mesh sling: short- and long-term clinical and urodynamic outcomes
Article Abstract:
The Mersilene mesh suburethral sling appears to be effective in treating women with stress urinary incontinence. This was the conclusion of a study of 200 women. Over 90% of the women were successfully treated by the procedure.

Low risk ureteral obstruction with "deep" (dorsal/posterior) uterosacral ligament suture placement for transvaginal apical suspension
Article Abstract:
The ureteral obstruction rate with a 'deep' (dorsal/posterior) uterosacral ligament suture placement modification of a standard tranvaginal uterosacral ligament fixation (ULF) procedure is examined. Placement of USLF suture 'deep' (dorsal/posterior) increases the margin of safety for the ureter.

The Mersilene mesh suburethral sling: a clinical and urodynamic evaluation
Article Abstract:
The Mersilene mesh sling may be successfully used to surgically treat urinary stress incontinence. Researchers performed surgery using the Mersilene mesh sling on 110 women with urinary incontinence or other urinary tract dysfunction. Urodynamic tests one year after surgery confirmed that 95% of the patients were totally cured of urinary incontinence. Ninety-three percent of patients were able to urinate normally within six weeks of surgery. The appropriate sling tension was obtained by packing the vagina with gauze to elevate the urethra to its correct position, then stitching the mesh sling in place. Only two patients experienced erosion of the sling into the vagina, and the sling had to be removed in one case. The Mersilene mesh sling had a lower graft rejection rate than other sling materials.
