Low-tidal-volume ventilation in the acute respiratory distress syndrome
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the case of a 55-year old suffering with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is presented. ARDS is a lung injury, respiratory failure due to pulmonary edema in the absence of enough pressure in the pulmonary veins that causes several hazardous diseases and hence should be treated by providing low-tidal-volume ventilation to the patients.

The first case of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), to occur in Singapore after the initial worldwide outbreak ended, is presented. Reports showing the transmission of SARS in a laboratory setting are analyzed.
