Managing constipation in advanced cancer care
Article Abstract:
Constipation is a common and debilitating symptom in patients with advanced cancer and if left untreated it could greatly reduce a patient's quality of life. An improved understanding of bowel function and knowledge of the recognized risk factors would lead to a greater appreciation of the signs and symptoms of constipation.

Understanding nausea and vomiting in advanced cancer
Article Abstract:
The role of a nurse in assessing symptoms, measuring response to antimetics and providing non-pharmacological treatment to the patients with advanced cancer is described. The physiological conditions leading to nausea and vomiting in the patients that advance cancer symptoms are also discussed.

Constipation: causes and cures
Article Abstract:
The physiological factors behind constipation are discussed along with suggestions for treatment. Treatment options range from increasing fiber intake and getting more exercise to the use of laxatives, biofeedback and surgery.
