Managing the boundaries
Article Abstract:
Managers, teachers or colleagues should make sure that when trying to counsel a student or workmate they do not become too emotionally involved and find themselves having to pass on the responsibility to a professional. This can cause problems and result in the person being counselled feeling rejected. Courses in counselling, which have been attended by many, are aimed at the development of interpersonal skills to help them practice their profession. but there must be limits as to how these skills are used.
