The latest workforce survey by the RCN claim that over one-quarter of nurses have been assaulted, more than three-quarters of those working in A&E have been attacked or harassed and even more disturbingly, 40% suffered poor mental health. It is believed that nurses' capacity for understanding has in some way engendered a totally self-defeating and illogical tolerance.
