Maternal morbidity after maternal-fetal surgery
Article Abstract:
An analysis was done on maternal morbidity and mortality that were associated with different types of fetal intervention to quantify the risk by performing a retrospective evaluation of a continuous series of 187 cases. The results provide helpful data for counseling prospective patients, as short-term morbidities including rates of cesarean birth, treatment in intensive care, prolonged hospitalization and blood transfusion, are all common with hysterectomy compared with other techniques, while maternal-fetal surgery can be performed without maternal death.

Maternal-fetal surgery for myelomeningocele: Neurodevelopmental outcomes at 2 years of age
