Details regarding the mechanisms, such as the sequelae stemming from the absence of a functioning cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR), and the therapeutic strategies devised to cure cystic fibrosis were mentioned. Progress in research in cystic fibrosis will continue to rely on an improved understanding of CFTR function and its relationship to mucociliary clearance, airway secretion and other ion channels.

Daclizumab to prevent rejection after cardiac transplantation

Article Abstract:

A muticenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind study to confirm the results in daclizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody against the interleukin-2 receptor, is conducted. The conclusions indicate that daclizumab was efficacious as prophylaxis against acute cellular rejection after cardiac transplantation.
