Article Abstract:
Pre-1501 medical books show how fluid and all-encompassing the concept of medicine was in earlier stages of life. Before the invention of printing, scribes produced books by copying them by hand onto animal-skin parchment, or vellum where multiple copies of short texts occasionally were printed using laboriously carved woodblocks.
