Metabolism refers to the complex physical and chemical processes in human body that make use of energy. It is difficult to change one's basal metabolism but increasing one's daily activities certainly helps in burning more calories and in promoting lean body tissue that, in turn, burns more calories than does fat.

Reduced-fat candy bars often use skim milk or fillers such as puffed rice to lower the fat grams. However, many of these candy bars still have a fair amount of calories and fat. Fruit or nonfat yogurt would be a healthier snack. The nutritional values of seven snack foods are compared.
