Despite bad press, hospital pacts with chain move forward
Article Abstract:
Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp's legal troubles do not appear to be changing hospitals' plans to join the chain. A federal criminal investigation of Columbia began on Mar 19, 1997. On news of the probe, Columbia's stock price fell precipitously, triggering an investor lawsuit. Despite those developments, hospitals that had planned to join Columbia are not backing away from those plans.
