National implementation of nurse prescribing
Article Abstract:
The nurse prescribing scheme is to continue over the next two to three years. Educational guidelines are clearly set out by the ENB and preparation involves an open learning pack requiring 10 to 12 hours work, prior to the teaching aspect of the course. National implementation of nurse prescribing will require good communication and coordination of the requirements of local GP practices, and budgets will be affected. High street pharmacists will also be affected and they may be in a good position to ensure the legal requirements of a prescription are met.
