Near-syncope after exercise
Article Abstract:
A case of a 72-year-old patient having complaint of near-syncope after exercise for several months and his diagnosis tests in the evaluation of near-syncope, the clinical history, physical examination and electrocardiogram are discussed. The causes of near-syncope after exercise and the importance of the clinical history in the evaluation of this condition are highlighted in the case.

Depression in Patients Recovering From a Myocardial Infarction

Many people develop severe depression after a heart attack, which can increase their risk of death and make them stop taking their heart medicines. Several studies are evaluating antidepressants and psychosocial interventions for treating depression in heart attack patients.

Case studies of patients which demonstrate some of the effects of acute emotional stress on the heart such as left ventricular contractile dysfunction, myocardial ischemia or disturbances of cardiac rhythms is presented.
