Noise can damage your hearing
Article Abstract:
The most prevalent irreversible industrial disease in many countries today is noise-induced hearing loss. The world of city traffic, construction work, mechanized industries, home appliances, personal stereos and loud toys is increasingly noisy. One-third of the total cases of hearing loss in industrialized countries are caused at least partially by excessive noise.

International action against deafness
Article Abstract:
Over 120 mil persons globally have significant hearings loss. Probably half of that deafness could have been prevented. Among the international groups fighting global deafness are the International Federation of Otolaryngologocal Societies, and the International Society of Audiology.

Children's hearing endangered
Article Abstract:
About 1%-11% of children in developing countries fall victim to CSOM. This middle ear disease can be treated with antibiotics, regular cleansing and surgery if needed. Trials are being carried out in Kenya to see if a simple method of treatment could be used by older children.
