Tony Blair, British prime minister, was faced by some tough questions from Marion Brown, a nurse, who won cheers from nurses across the nation for her blunt questioning of Mr. Blair on 'whether he will wipe someone's backside for 5 euros an hour'. The reason for this uproar being the inadequate pay for nurses which is expected to wipe out by the new pay system called, 'Agenda for Change'.

NHS afflicted with an unhealthy workforce

A report from Healthcare Commission showed that ward nurses take an average of 17 days sick leave each year, which is higher than that of any other public sector worker. It is suggested that immediate action should be taken by the government to stop rising sickness rates among nurses.
