Nursing considerations for people with Marfan syndrome
Article Abstract:
Marfan syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic condition that is caused by a deficiency of microfibrilar fibres, which form the framework for connective tissues, and the abnormality causes them to elongate progressively, stretching and weakening, leading to a range of health problems with severity varying between individuals. The health problems related to this syndrome, the recommended investigations and nurses' role in treating the patient are discussed.
