Patient safety measure headed for Senate floor

The U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee unanimously voted to establish a certification system for patient safety organizations that collect data related to medical errors, and also prevent such data from being used against physicians and institutions in court cases. Whether the legislation will be now go to the floor for discussion and a possible vote.
