Pelvic pain: hidden troubles
Article Abstract:
Up to 15% of UK women may suffer from a degree of pelvic pain during sometime in their lifes, although there are so many underlying causes, it is hard for doctors to discover the root of the problem and properly cure it. One of the most painful and distressing conditions is pelvic venous congestion, which requires treatment with psychotherapy and hormone therapy, while other conditions may require surgery or other medical interventions. Up to 2 million women are estimated to suffer from endometriosis, which is the most common reason for pelvic pain.
