Perinatal factors associated with severe intracranial hemorrhage
Article Abstract:
Brain hemorrhage in newborn babies has decreased substantially since 1980, even in extremely premature babies. Nevertheless, premature babies are about twice as likely to develop brain hemorrhage as term babies. Prenatal corticosteroids do not reduce this risk.

The effect of multidose antenatal betamethasone on maternal and infant outcomes
Article Abstract:
Prolonged treatment of pregnant women with the corticosteroid drug betamethasone does not appear to have an adverse effect on the fetus. This drug is given to women at risk of a premature delivery to enhance fetal maturity.

Antenatal magnesium exposure and neonatal demise
Article Abstract:
Giving pregnant women magnesium sulfate will not increase the risk of neonatal death. In fact, in a study of 12,876 deliveries, antenatal magnesium sulfate was associated with a reduction in neonatal death.
