Poor warfarin follow-up risk lives
Article Abstract:
The lives of patients receiving anticoagulation medication are put to risk because of the lack of communication between primary and secondary care teams as warned by the government's patient safety body. The head of the safe medication practice at the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) reported that in the past decade, 100 deaths and 500 adverse incidents occurred in those on anticoagulation therapy due to incorrect doses and adverse drug interactions.

An evaluation of tea tree oil as an alternative microbicide
Article Abstract:
Tea tree oil is a popular ingredient in complementary medicines and beauty products that are used as a complementary treatment instead of antibiotics for many conditions. The analysis of the tea tree oil discloses some evidence of efficacy as an antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal in topical application and also shows dermatitis as one of the potential side effect.

Understanding the implications of oral anticoagulation therapy

Oral anticoagulation therapy (OAT) is an effective treatment for many indications, and most patients of OAT take the drug warfarin, a Vitamin K antagonist. The ways, in which the OAT is monitored, the factors affecting the stability and control of anticoagulation and the importance of educating patients who are on OAT are described.
