Postpartum follow-up of a positive purified protein derivative (PPD) among an indigent population
Article Abstract:
The rates and predictors of follow-up and treatment for postpartum patients with a positive purified protein derivative (PPD) are investigated. The result found that despite the opportunity given by the interaction with the medical system during pregnancy, only 18% of patients with a positive PPD actually completed therapy.

Cost-effective analysis of prenatal population-based fragile X carrier screening
Article Abstract:
The cost-effectiveness of a widespread prenatal population-based fragile X carrier screening program is investigated. The results revealed that population-based screening for the fragile X premutation might be both clinically desirable and cost effective.

Racial/ethnic differences in perineal, vaginal and cervical lacerations
Article Abstract:
The existence of variation between ethnicities for risk of perineal, vaginal, and cervical laceration at vaginal delivery is examined. Filipino and Chinese women were found to be at greater risk for third and fourth degree laceration.
