Prenatal exposure to binge drinking and cognitive and behavioral outcomes at age 7 years
Article Abstract:
The goal of the study is to examine differential effects of amount and pattern of prenatal alcohol exposure on child outcome. Results of the current study support the findings of other researchers who suggest that exposure to binge drinking has more deleterious consequences than the overall amount of exposure to alcohol during pregnancy.

Salmonella as a causative organism of acute pyelonephritis during pregnancy
Article Abstract:
A rare case of acute pyelonephritis caused by Salmonella typhimurium in a pregnant patient who presented with abdominal pain and responded well to intravenous antibiotic therapy is described. Septicemia is characterized by fever, chills and a positive blood culture for Salmonella.

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder
Article Abstract:
The diagnosis and prevention of fetal alcohol syndrome are reviewed. Fetal alcohol syndrome affects the children of women who drink alcohol while they are pregnant. It causes physical and behavioral abnormalities and also affects intellectual ability.
