Practice makes perfect
Article Abstract:
The UK Prospective Diabetes Study has revealed that control of both blood glucose and blood pressure are important in reducing the risk of complications. Clinicians must now ensure that they translate these findings into clinical practice. Methods of doing this include health promotion activities and increased focus on monitoring activities. However, they must also ensure that their attention remains focussed on the holistic needs of the patient. Patients do not want increased incidence of hypoglycaemia or to let concerns about their condition take over their lives.
