Primary coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction
Article Abstract:
The availability of prompt diagnosis, immediate treatment with aspirin and rapid reestablishment of blood flow in the infarct-related artery can reduce mortality of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the strategy of emergent angiography followed by mechanical recanalization of the occluded artery with a balloon catheter.

Sex differences in platelet reactivity and response to low-dose aspirin therapy
Article Abstract:
The sex differences found in the differential platelet reactivity to low-dose aspirin therapy are examined. The results have shown that women experienced the same or greater decreases in platelet reactivity after aspirin therapy, retaining modestly more platelet reactivity compared with men.
