An insight into the problems related to using Drug-eluting coronary stents like Cordis Cypher sirolimus eluting stent and Boston scientific Taxus Express paclitaxel eluting stent, which were approved, by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is highlighted. These drugs are associated with highly publicized adverse effects after FDA approved them for marketing, leading some questions to their safety.

Drug-induced prolongation of the QT interval
Article Abstract:
The current knowledge about molecular and clinical predictors of drug-induced prolongation of the QT interval associated with polymorphism ventricular tachycardia, which can be fatal, is summarized. The ways in which new predictors of a drug's activity might be incorporated into drug development programs for a more general approach is discussed.
