Quality indicators for patient information in short-stay units
Article Abstract:
A survey of patient information among short-stay patients at Poole Hospital has revealed that 63% of respondents were satisfied with the information available to them, while 22% were dissatisfied. Some 76% felt that their GP had briefed them well at referral, and 92% claimed that the hospital doctor had explained everything they wanted to know. However, significant numbers of patients did not now how long they would stay in hospital, and how long it would take before they could resume normal activities.
