Radiation's outer limits
Article Abstract:
A study demonstrates that the stem cells in the intestine have a threshold at which they die as a result of radiation exposure. The results uncover long sought after dose-responsive cells and molecules and have relevance for the relative importance of stem cells as a radiation target.

An attempt to target tumours by immunotherapy given that the immune system seeks out and destroys any foreign body is presented. It is found that immune cells do recognize tumours and it has encouraged the approach to immunotherapy as a potential adjunct to cancer therapy.
