Ready to fight for physician rights
Article Abstract:
American Medical Assn president Daniel H. Johnson Jr. M.D. advocates medical savings accounts and the transfer of ownership of health insurance from employers and the government to patients. He opposes collective bargaining because he believes that it frequently serves the interest of neither party. In addition, Johnson has been deeply affected by his experience in Vietnam, and has had a difficulty balancing his commitments to his practice with his commitments to organized medicine. He looks forward to working with his colleagues at the American Medical Assn.
