Reducing the risk of injuries to staff from insulin pens
Article Abstract:
Problems in the use and disposal of sharp objects used in the administration of insulin therapy in a hospital setting are described. Subsequent investigation and action taken to reduce the risk of needlestick injuries in staff that administer insulin therapy with an insulin pen delivery system is discussed.

Risks and effects of sharps injuries
Article Abstract:
Underreporting of needlestick injuries reduces the perception of the danger of such injuries. Risk assessment and training are needed to teach nurses of the risk of bloodborne diseases like hepatitis and HIV.
