Regulation of NKT cell development by SAP, the protein defective in XLP
Article Abstract:
The role of adapter molecule SAP, encoded by the SH2D1A gene locus, during the development of natural killer (NK) T cells, a lymphocyte subset with immunoregulatory functions in response to infection, cancer and autoimmune disease is described. The absence of NKT cells contributes to the phenotypes of SAP deficiency, including abnormal antiviral and antitumor immunity and hypogammaglobulinemia.

Type II monocytes modulate T cell-mediated central nervous system autoimmune disease
Article Abstract:
The influence of glatiramer acetate (GA) on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) and its significance for GA-mediated T cell immune modulation and clinical protection in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is evaluated. The results have shown that APCs are the primary target for GA-mediated immune modulation in vivo.

T-cell mediated cytotoxicity toward platelets in chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
Article Abstract:
Chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a bleeding disorder that is qualified by increased platelet destruction and it is considered to be autoantibody mediated. In a study conducted , CD3+T cells from ITP patients had increased expression of genes involved in cell-mediated cyctotoxicity.
