Managers must use common sense when it comes to assessing potential future product risk, despite some risks being very small. Litigation often results from cases when products where known to have a small degree of risk although management failed to act the risk. It is important to weigh up the level of risk posed by an assumed or recently known problem, taking into account possible public relation and financial implications arising from a failure to take positive action.
