SARS attack: reality vs perception collide during students' Beijing visit
Article Abstract:
A group of medical students from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School shortened their stay in Beijing in April, 2003, after SARS broke out. They did this not so much because they feared becoming infected but because they were afraid they might not be able to leave China. They expected airport checks and delays in China and the US, but this expectation did not materialize.
