Sacrospinous vault suspension and abdominal colposacropexy: success rates and complications
Article Abstract:
Two surgical techniques called abdominal colposacropexy and sacrospinous vault suspension used to reattach a caved in and protruding vaginal wall appear to be equally safe and effective. Eighty women had the wall resuspended by abdominal colposacropexy and 125 women by sacrospinous vault suspension. Only a small percentage of women had repeated problems up to five years following either surgery. One patient treated with abdominal colposacropexy experienced a bleeding complication during surgery.
