Article Abstract:
Research into the impact of age on free fatty acid release and the ability of respiring tissues to oxidize fat is discussed. Free fatty acid availability does not seem to be rate limiting for fat oxidation.

The impact of age on glucose homeostasis is discussed. Glucose intolerance rises with age, but this effect can be reduced with changes to diet and exercise.
