Article Abstract:
Financial resources should be used for research into the causes of disease and promoting preventive policies. Aims should be to encourage a healthier nation. High technology research has emphasised organ transplantation and genetic manipulation. However, research into causes could reduce incidence of disease. For example, government funded preventive programmes could address malnutrition and the health threats of alcohol and tobacco.

Every woman's right
Article Abstract:
Midwives must regain their full role, and enable women to make informed choices about their maternity care. They also need to learn how to help women give birth without intervention, if the labour is normal. Some doctors and midwives are against women giving birth at home and many women have been led to believe that the only safe place to give birth is in hospital.
