Scientists stumped by test that promises tailored treatment
Article Abstract:
Patients with conditions such as pain, heart disease and depression endure months of trial and error before doctors can determine the drug and dose that works for them. Researchers are exploiting advances in gene detection technology to develop tests for genes such as those that encode the cytochrome P450 family of liver enzymes, which affect how the body metabolizes drugs.

The muscle-specific microRNA miR-1 regulates cardiac arrhythmogenic potential by targeting GJA1 and KCNJ2
Article Abstract:
This article explains that micro-ribonucleic acids are over expressed in humans with coronary artery disease. An experiment was conducted on rats and it was found that when the micro-ribonucleic acids are over expressed in normal rat hearts, it suppresses arrhythmogenesis.
