Screening for lung cancer
Article Abstract:
More research is needed on low-dose CT imaging for detecting early-stage lung cancer before this technique can be recommended for screening all people at high risk. Low-dose CT imaging is better than chest X-rays at detecting early-stage lung cancer, but it should only be widely implemented if it is shown to reduce mortality rates.

Lung cancer screening
Article Abstract:
The CT screening for the detection of lung cancer has increased the percentage of cases of lung cancer that are diagnosed in stage 1 among persons with a history of heavy smoking. However, results of randomized trials are not yet available to assess whether such screening reduces mortality.

Survival of patients with stage I lung cancer detected on CT screening
