Social circumstances of initiation of injection drug use and early shooting gallery attendance: implications for HIV intervention among adolescent and young adult injection drug users
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on relationship between early shooting gallery attendance and HIV prevalence among young adult and adolescent injection drug users. Results demonstrate that young new injection drug users attending early shooting gallery tend to be initiated by older high-risk injection drug users, and that HIV may be transmitted from the older group of injection drug users to the younger one.
