Special challenges face doctors who care for a dying collegue
Article Abstract:
The strategies for handling the unique aspects of caring for physicians at the end of life such as self-doctoring, perfectionism, confidentiality and professional identity and empathy are presented. The best care for a dying physician patient comes from doctors who can suspend the collegial relationship while still providing the necessary sensitivity and support.

DEA to double prescribing fee

The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration has raised its annual registration fee from $70 to $131. The doctors are frustrated by increasing fees and charges, low Medicare reimbursements, rising liability rates and contractual locks on the fees they can charge managed care patients.
