Suspected Brucellosis Case Prompts Investigation of Possible Bioterrorism-Related Activity--New Hampshire and Massachusetts, 1999
Article Abstract:
A case is presented of a 38-year-old New Hampshire resident who was initially diagnosed with brucellosis. Brucella is a bacterium that can be used as a biological weapon. Her case was investigated by the New Hampshire and Massachusetts state health departments as well as the FBI. The diagnosis of brucellosis was eventually changed, and no sign of biological terrorism was identified.
