T-cell release of granulysin contributes to host defense in leprosy
Article Abstract:
Granulysin-expressing Tcells have been found in high concentrations in cutaneous leprosy lesions. This suggests T-cell release of granulysin plays a significant role in resisting leprosy.

Activation and regulation of toll-like receptors 2 and 1 in human leprosy
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that the immune response outcome in leprosy is dictated partly by the effect of local cytokine environment on the regulated expression and activation of toll-like receptors 2 and 1. Results pave the way for designing intervention therapy for leprosy in terms of regulating the toll-like receptor expressionand activaion.

TLR activation triggers the rapid differentiation of monocytes into macrophages and dendritic cells
Article Abstract:
Toll-like receptor (TDR) activation of human monocytes induces rapid differentiation into distinct subsets, DC-SIGN(super +) CD16(super +) macrophages and CD1b(super +) DC-SIGN(super -) dendritic cells. TLR-induced differentiation of monocytes into either macrophages or dendritic cells seems to crucially influence effective host defenses in human infectious disease.
