The CEO difference: how four corporate leaders inspire safety from top to bottom
Article Abstract:
Four CEOs prove that safety is a company's primary concern and that safety is a requirement for success. Occidental Chemical Corp CEO J. Roger Hirl, American Ref-Fuel Co CEO Paul Varello, Black and Veatch CEO Len Rodman, and Aluminum Company of America CEO Paul O'Neill are one in the belief that industrial safety begins from the top. O'Neill points out that those who emphasize on the savings due to improved industrial safety neglect the moral issues. Safety has its own rewards and cost savings is just one of them.
