The demise of the physical exam
Article Abstract:
Doctors are relying more on high technology tests and less on physical examination as they are uncomfortable with uncertainty and are accompanied by the fear of lawsuits mainly because of subjective observation. However, physical diagnosis has advantages over the use of more sophisticated technology as it is less expensive, more easily used to make serial observations and because it involves touch, the physical examination is believed to enhance the doctor-patient relationship.

The script
Article Abstract:
Physicians are taught to follow a script when a patient visits, in order to take a detailed history of the existing illness. The practical experiences of the doctors indicate that this theoretical method does not work in all the situations.
