Using Reiki to support surgical patients
Article Abstract:
The authors support the use of Reiki to help surgical patients cope with pain. Reiki, a 2,500-year-old Buddhist practice, involves noninvasive touch, and helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and promote a sense of calm that can enable patients to require fewer pain medications.
