The discovery of serotonin
Article Abstract:
The discovery of serotonin dates back to 1868 when it was first detected. Since then, efforts were directed towards the isolation and characterization of the pure substance, culminating in the elucidation of its chemical structure, 5-hydroxytryptamine. The information about its structure led to the availability of synthetic serotonin. The determination of the role of serotonin in physiological processes was an essential part of its discovery and through collaborative work of basic science and clinical researchers, serotonin has been recognized to be involved in practically everything.

An alert for authors and readers of translated books
Article Abstract:
The practice of mutating works in translation by intentionally deleting portions has become too common. This translation censorship may be done to suit local ideology, as a market strategy, or due to the author's wish. Translations of Al Gore's "Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit" demonstrate these biases. Measures such as informing the people of such deletions and arriving at international agreements are needed to preserve the norms of international information exchange and to safeguard the rights of authors and readers.
