The effect of housing renovation on health
Article Abstract:
Cardiff County Council, Wales, has launched a project which will examine the effects of poor housing on health. Cardiff's Riverside project will look at the health of the ethnically diverse inhabitants of 1,800 homes which are to be renovated over a 12-year period. Experts will examine whether the renovation leads to changes in temperature, pollution and dampness in the homes, the effect any changes have on the health status of the inhabitants, and whether any changes in health status are associated with change in chronic conditions.
