The effect of missing data in the supplements to McCance and Widdowson's food tables on calculated nutrient intakes
Article Abstract:
A study by the University of Bristol Division of Paediatric Epidemiology Institute of Child Care, UK, indicates that it is worth providing a standard set of estimates to be used in the food tables of McCance and Widdowson, for which data is missing. The study indicates that mean daily intakes are not overall greatly affected by data not being available, but that calculations for the consumption of some nutrients can be inaccurate by over 10%.

Dietary studies on two rural Italian population groups of the Seven Countries Study. 3. Trend of food and nutrient intake from 1960 to 1991
Article Abstract:
A study of the diets of men from Crevalcore and Montegiorgio, both Italy, between 1961 and 1991 showed that the eating habits of the men deteriorated over the years, particularly in Montegiorgio. The study was initially based on 28 men from the former area and 33 from the latter, but by 1991 there were just 6 in the former and 5 in the latter because of death, relocation and withdrawal from the study.
