The epidemiology of threatened preterm labor: A prospective cohort study
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to describe the occurrence, timing, and outcomes of hospital-based diagnoses of preterm labor. Results suggest that the incidence of first-time hospitalization for preterm labor was 9%, with the most episodes not resulting in preterm birth suggesting that previous preterm birth was associated with a preterm birth.

The effect of early epidural versus early intravenous analgesia use on labor progression: a natural experiment
Article Abstract:
The effect of early epidural is compared to the use of early intravenous analgesia on labor progression. The placement of epidural analgesia at <=4 cm of cervical dilation results in a slower labor progression from 4 to 5 cm.
