The evidence on quality of life for older people
Article Abstract:
Quality of life is a major concern for older people and many factors contribute to how they perceive this concept. Health care professionals must emphasis upon promoting quality of life and educating older people on how it can be optimized, like maintaining good relationships with friends and family, which would enable older people to feel valued and cared for and would have an impact on their sense of well being and contribute significantly to their quality of life.

Making life better for older people
Article Abstract:
The development of new services for older people is accompanied by a new attitude to the people themselves, which make their life better, active, healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives. Further, nurses who choose to work with older people are making satisfying careers in a field that promotes dignity and independence in a group, which was earlier short-changed by health and social services.

West Nile virus
Article Abstract:
West Nile virus (WNV) originates in birds and can be transmitted to humans through mosquito bites. The Health Protection Agency recommends that patients over 50 years who develop encephalitis or viral meningitis of unknown origin between July and September should be tested for WNV.
