The respiratory system: Part 1: nose, pharynx and larynx
Article Abstract:
The structure and function of the respiratory system is presented and the mechanics of breathing is described as each of the cells in the body needs a supply of oxygen in order to function as well as a means to expel the carbon dioxide produced and the respiratory system is largely dedicated to supplying these needs. The nose, pharynx and larynx and the three main functions of the airways in the respiratory system is presented.

Anatomy of the kidney is described with illustrations of the internal structure of the kidney and the role of each region in processing filtrate. Each kidney is covered by a fibrous renal capsule, which is in contact with the outer layer of the kidney, and the urine production occurs in the renal tubes.
