The right tools give safety a hand
Article Abstract:
Hand tools can cause severe injuries or disability when used incorrectly or when not selected and maintained properly. Selecting the right hand tools require consideration of several factors, such as length, frequency of use, and the force and positions they require from workers. It is also important to remember specific safety measures for each particular tool category, that is, for striking tools, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, cutting tools and those that are struck. Tool users should also take safety precautions of their own, such as wearing protective equipment and not using their hands to in place of tools.

Handle hand protection with care
Article Abstract:
The past few years have seen an increased in reportings of allergic reactions to latex gloves. These reactions could be due to the glove itself or other chemicals present such as nickel and cobalt. The OSHA (Occupational safety and Health Administration) has set standards for potential hazards such as this. Some suggested measures include using glove liners, cuffed gloves and powder free gloves. As there are no instant remedies to this problem, the National Industrial Glove Distributors have recommended that manufacturers label their gloves to avoid further injuries.
